Key principles of landscape design are discussed, with a focus on creating attractive spaces that work well in urban settings. In addition, the presentation discusses the pros and cons of adding native grasses into the landscape. Participants learn the best times of year to plant native species and effective planting techniques that support better outcomes. The presenters also cover soil preparation specifically for native plants. Finally, the session explores how to replace a part or the entirety of a traditional lawn with a more environmentally friendly alternative, reducing maintenance while increasing ecological value.
