ENPS 2026 Annual General Meeting

Orchid Resource Centre

Feb 18, 2026

On February 18, seventeen people attended the 2026 Annual General Meeting, both in person (braving a cold and snowy night) and by Zoom.

Treasurer Patrick Kyle, who also chaired the meeting in the absence of president Kathleen Mpulubusi (due to illness), presented an audited financial statement for the year January 1 to December 31, 2025, showing the society to be in a healthy financial state, with a net profit for the year of $6,280.08. The Society’s main income continues to be from plant sales, with seed sales second, and sales of Go Wild books and membership subscriptions contributing. A one-time expense for hiring professional help to catch up with a backlog of missed Income Tax records added to administration costs, and labour costs were higher last year due to the need for part-time help with increased plant growing. ENPS also ordered a second batch of T-shirts for volunteers in 2025. Many thanks to Patrick for getting our records in order and keeping track of all these transactions, and to auditors Linda Boisvert and Susan Neuman.

Board election was another important item of business. Board members with expiring terms were re-elected and Terra Albers and Kristyn Mayner were welcomed as new board members, for a board total of nine. The new board will meet on March 4 to discuss the assignment of executive positions and duties.

The evening was rounded out with a discussion of the Society’s volunteer needs and a slide-show of plants, which we all enjoyed identifying, provided by Liz Deleeuw who also took the minutes.
