ENPS helped facilitate native plant and pollinator workshops across the city
Touch Grass Club is a “multi-cultural climate action collective” that brings together people concerned about the environment who want to positively act for change. One simple way of accomplishing this is to plant locally native plants in gardens. In March and April, ENPS supplied easy to grow native plant seeds and Manna Parseyan and I co-facilitated two workshops along with Maia Mudric, the founder of the Touch Grass Club. The workshops were very well attended with over 30 people at each event. It was gratifying to see such a diverse group of people of all ages coming together to plant seeds, and learn about native plants and their pollinators.
Hopefully, the seeds that were planted are starting to grow in gardens across Edmonton. This has been a positive collaboration and ENPS is looking forward to future endeavours. If anyone wants to learn more about the Touch Grass Club and their other projects you can send an email to touchgrassclub@gmail.com, or find them on Instagram at touchgrassclub or Facebook.
