Growing Tips

Penstemon gracilis seeds require a 60-day period of cold-moist stratification before they will germinate. This involves storing the seeds in a cool, moist environment, such as a refrigerator, for a specific duration.

Sow seeds outdoors in the late fall into early spring after the cold stratification period.

Description

A slender, delicate  perennial, 8-24 in. tall, with a loose-flowered  spike of small, lavender, snapdragon-like flowers and dark green leaves.

The Slender name comes from the leaves, which are toothed and narrow.
