About the event
In honor of the 2024 Biodiversity Challenge, Nature Alberta and Root for Trees are teaming up for an incredible evening of tree planting and citizen science on June 13th.
What to expect: Public registration is free and conducted onsite at 5:30 PM. At the registration table, we will split participants into 3 groups to rotate between Root for Trees' guided tree planting and weed pulling volunteer experiences and Nature Alberta's guided citizen science nature walk. With the nature experts from MacEwan University we will explore what citizen science is, why it's important, and add observations to iNaturalists for the Alberta Biodiversity Challenge (https://naturealberta.ca/biodiversity-challenge/).
There will also be opportunity to learn about the Edmonton River Valley Conservation Coalition, and play tree-via games.
