Smith Blackburn Homestead

There are two parts to this event. In the morning, volunteers will be focusing on removing invasive weeds. In the afternoon, everyone will participate in a bioblitz and document as many species as possible, with support from guest experts who will help us identify what we find.

About the event

The Smith Blackburn Homestead is a unique property located just east of Elk Island National Park, in a region recognized by UNESCO as the Beaverhills Biosphere Reserve. Home to many species of wildlife, there is also an established pollinator garden that is under pressure from invasive weeds. (ENPS was instrumental in the establishment of this pollinator garden.)
