I am an amateur photographer and amateur naturist. I was born and raised on a South-East Saskatchewan farm where some native prairie surrounding the farm thanks to road allowances and some native pasture land where native flowers grew.

I worked for Environment Canada, Weather Services for 35 years. That took me to isolated weather stations in the high arctic for a couple of years. Then worked out of Toronto as an ice observer for three years before moving to The Pas, Manitoba were I married my wife and continue to work and fish in The Pas, for two years before making our final moved to Edmonton on Dec 10, 1977. Where we have lived since. Our two children have both graduated from the U of A engineering department. And now we have 6 grandchildren.

I retired in 2006 and have volunteered extensively since then, doing the annual Elk Island flower count almost every year since retiring. I took the Edmonton city Master Naturist program in 2014 and have been participating with the Edmonton Native Plant Society ever since.
